New York State SWANA Local Chapter Scholarship Awards
Applicants are responsible to have all transcripts sent directly to the NY Chapter Scholarship Chairman and to confirm transcripts have been received prior to the May 1 deadline.
CATEGORY HS Senior SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Category 1 – Category 1 is for students entering their first year of college. The major selected by the applicant does not need to be focused on the sciences, engineering, or related environmental field. Eligible candidates include relatives of SWANA members or residents of New York State; preference will be given to relatives of SWANA members.
Category IA – Category IA is for entering college sophomores. Eligible candidates include relatives of SWANA members or residents of New York State; preference will be given to relatives of SWANA members and candidates matriculating in a field associated with the management of solid waste.
Category II – Category II is for entering college Juniors or seniors matriculating in a major focused on sciences, engineering, public policy or other related environmental field. Eligible candidates include relatives of SWANA members or residents of New York State; preference will be given to relatives of SWANA members and candidates matriculating in a field associated with the management of solid waste.
Category III – Robert P. Stearns/SCS Engineers Scholarship -Category III is for students enrolled in a graduate school focused on sciences, engineering, public policy or other related environmental field. Eligible candidates include relatives of SWANA members or residents of New York State; preference will be given to relatives of SWANA members and candidates matriculating in a field associated with the management of solid waste.
Category IV – Category IV is for New York SWANA Chapter members who are pursuing educational opportunities, training or professional development. Eligible candidates include relatives of SWANA members or residents of New York State; preference will be given to relatives of SWANA members and candidates matriculating in a field associated with the management of solid waste.
